Santa Made it Down My Chimney!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and I hope that Santa came to visit each and every one of you!  I guess I was on the 'Nice List' this year because Santa definitely visited me and he knew just what I wanted!  For all of y'all who follow me on Instagram (@SouthernLillyLady), here is a close up of all my goodies!

I was so excited when I opened these!  As most of y'all know, these are my absolute favorite sandals!  I'm always wearing my gold ones and pink ones and I wear them so often that I have to get a new pair every 6 months!  These are the Lilly Pulitzer McKims, and I got them in 3 new colors!

 

Here are my Lilly Pulitzer Lets Cha Cha goodies!  I'm pretty sure that only in Florida will you receive a bikini and a scarf for Christmas!  This is my favorite bathing suit.  It is super comfy and has removable straps to make it strapless!

I love and cannot wait to monogram my new North Face backpack that my boyfriend gave me!  I'm 

also head over heals for my new Ray-Bans!

My best friend knows me way too well!  She gave me this beautiful gold blanket with my monogram in coral (gold and coral are my favorite colors)!  She also got me a huge thing of coffee and a Lilly Pulitzer coffee travel mug in Hotty Pink First Impressions (my favorite Lilly print)!  EVERYONE knows my obsession for coffee!

And last, but not least, I got a new pair of riding boots!  Y'all all know how obsessed I am with my Michael Kors brown Hamilton riding boots in the color Luggage and now I have the EXACT same ones but in black!  My santa is definitely a special Santa for finding these after they were discontinued 2 years ago!

I hope everyone had a very special and merry Christmas.  I'd love to hear about all of the goodies that Santa brought y'all (I know none of my followers were on the naughty list)!  Sorry it has been so long since I have blogged.  It's hard to balance everything with school work, but I sure do enjoy doing it when I have the time!

Tricks or Treats? Happy Halloween!

Hey y'all!  First off I want to apologize for not posting in what seems like forever.  Ever since school has started back I seem to have no free time!  Today however, I had a lot of free time to relax and do what I love, decorating and baking!  My roommate and I decorated our place for Halloween today which got me in the spirit to whip up some wicked treats!  I figured yall may want the recipe seeing as there is still so much time left in October for Halloween parties and fun goodie-bags! 

Candy Corn Rice Krispies

Yellow Layer

2 1/4 cup rice krispies

1 3/4 cup mini marshmallows

1 1/2 tsps butter

Yellow food coloring

8 inch circle container

First, in a microwavable bowl, put the marshmallows, butter, and food coloring together and microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between each microwave.  Once everything completely mixes and is liquified, you can stop microwaving (usually only takes one 30 second microwave for me).

Second, you add the Rice Krispies and mix everything together.

Moving quickly, you must take the mixture, and put it in the container making the outer ring.  It is best to just use your hands, but be sure to rub butter on your hands first, or you are in for a sticky mess.  (THE BUTTERED HANDS ARE KEY TO THIS WORKING!!!)

You must repeat the same steps for the next two colors, but use the correct measurements, as the rings do get smaller!

Orange Layer

1 1/4 cups rice krispies

2 1/4 cups mini marshmallows

1 tbsp butter

Orange food coloring (red and yellow mixed make orange)

White Layer

1 cup rice krispies

1 1/2 cup mini marshmallows

Once you have completed all the layers, let it sit for an hour or two, or even over night, before cutting.  I have also put mine in the fridge before for about 15 minutes and then cut it!  This 8 inch ring with make 8 Candy Corn Rice Krispy Treats!

Pumpkin Rice Krispy Treats

Here is the recipe for these flat Pumpkin Rice Krispy Treats!  I have also made round ball shaped Pumpkin Rice Krispy treats before, but I needed a lot, so I chose to make them this way this time so that I could have more!

In a microwave safe bowl combine:

5  table spoons of butter

1 and a half 10 oz. bags of mini marshmallows

Orange food coloring

Microwave for a minute at a time stirring in between each time you microwave.  Once the mixture is liquified, you can stop microwaving and mix in the Rice Krispies!

 8 cups of Rice Krispies mixed into the orange, butter, marshmallow mixture.

Once completely mixed, take two spoons and spoon out a clump onto parchment paper ( I didn't have any so I just used a pan and sprayed it with Pam).

I then put the Orange blobs in the fridge for 10 minutes so that they stiffen and I can shape them more like pumpkins.

Next, it is time to make the pumpkin stems!  Occasionally I will use a tootsie roll, and use my fingers to twist it and form it into a stem, but this time I made green Rice Krispy stems.

1 cup of mini marshmallows

1 table spoon of butter

green food coloring

Put these ingredients in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave for 30 seconds and stir just like you did for the body of the pumpkin.

Once they are ready, combine 3/4th of a cup of rice krispies and mix it all together.

I then butter my finger tips and take a pinch of green rice kris pies and form a little stem.

The last step is decorating your pumpkins!  I used black glitter gel icing this time around, but in the past I have melted chocolate and put it in a baggy, cut the corner (making a tip), and decorated them with chocolate!

Another fun decorating tip is using green icing to draw leaves around the stem!

Look at this giveaway!  Lilly Pulitzer clutches!  Everyone loves a clutch to match their Lilly!  These were made by @preppypinkshop and her etsy is PreppyPinkShop!  Not only does she have clutches but she also make skirts out of Lilly Pulitzer fabric that are absolutely darling!  Definitely an awesome shop inspired by the best, Lilly Pulitzer!!

I don't even know where to begin when it comes to this giveaway and this awesome company Over Under Clothing.  This company has trusted me to not only do one giveaway, but 4 awesome Summer giveaways for them!  On the first of each of the summer months (May, June, July, and August) I have started a giveaway for this company that consists of a Beach N Boat tote, 6 koozies, and 2 stickers!  The Koozies are very girly and say "A gentleman would never steal a ladies koozie now would he..."  What I love about this company is that everything is made 100% in the USA, a portion of each sale goes to preserving Wetlands in North America, and a portion of each sale also goes to Lab Rescues in the Southeast (and I am a huge animal lover!!!), but above all of these things, their customer service is out of this world!  They truly care about their customers and strive to make sure they are happy and pleased with their products.  Ladies, i've learned quickly from experience, something from Over Under Clothing is the perfect gift for your boyfriend or hubby!  Plus, how awesome is it to know that by purchasing something from them, you are able to make a difference and help out so many things!

This monogrammed tote giveaway is from @TheSimpleBelle and her website is The Simple Belle. Packing necessities for the beach!

Hey y'all, i'm headed to my beach house this week for the 4th and couldn't be more excited!  I'm so ready to smell the salty air and soak up some rays!  But first i've got to pack, so I thought I would show y'all a few of my necessities when packing for the beach!  (I always over pack, so this is only about a third of all the things I actually brought!)

I always pack the things I easily forget first!

• Lilly Pulitzer cooler tote in You Gotta Regatta
• Lilly Pulitzer beach tote in Blue Sailors Valentine
• Lilly Pulitzer beach towel
• Lilly Pulitzer rubber pool sandals
• Lilly Pulitzer Sunglass Straps
• Koozies
• Monogrammed seersucker koozie
• Over Under Clothing girly koozies that say "A gentleman would never steal a ladies koozie now would he"

Some other things I brought include my monogrammed Camel Bak, Lilly Pulitzer tumbler, Lilly Pulitzer floppy beach hat, Lilly Pulitzer You Gotta Regatta beach bag (one bag is ready for the beach and one for the boat), and of course my Lilly Pulitzer speaker so I can listen to some tunes!

After i've packed all of my accessories I need for the water, I pack my bathing suits!  Of course I pack my bathing suits before my clothes because lets be real, bathing suits are more important than clothes when you're going to the beach!

I've got tons on bathing suits, but here are a few I picked out to bring!

• Juicy Couture blue and white seersucker bikini
• 3 Lilly Pulitzer bandeaus with surfs up bottoms
• Coral (my favorite color) bathing suit top from Target with fringe

Now that I've packed all that I really need, I guess i'll throw in some clothes, starting with my cover up!  I am obsessed with this Lilly Pulitzer Hotty Pink Floral Punch print and this cover up.  It is a very light weight tunic cover up.  This is an older print, and I have the surfs up bottoms in it, but I am still on the hunt for the bandeau top and determined i'll get it one day!

Next I pack my tops.  I know y'all know I brought more than this, but here are a few!  I always love packing my Hotty Pink and Lagoon green Lilly Pulitzer Cleo tops because they match all of my shorts!  Call me crazy, but after a long day in the sun I love to put on a comfy long sleeve shirt.  My clam shell and starfish long sleeve Lilly tops are perfect for this because they are oversized and comfy and of course cute at the same time!  I'm also one who is obsessed with wearing white at the beach so I brought my white Elsa top!

Next I pack my shorts and comfy tees.  I'm sure y'all could have guessed that I would be packing a few pair of callahans and then I also brought my white walsh shorts and my seersucker seahorse Vineyard Vines skirt!

My comfy tees, tanks, and monogrammed nike shorts are my go to's once I get out of the shower after a long day on the water.  I've become a t-shirt junkie, mainly because my boyfriend gets me a t-shirt whenever he orders from his favorite brands, but here are a few that I selected:

• Coral Southern Shirt Co tee
• Teal blue Brewer's Lantern tee
• Navy blue Over Under Clothing tee

Of course, I can NEVER go to the beach without dresses!  Here are a few of the nautical dresses I selected!  But as i'm sure y'all already know, I ca't go anywhere without my Cassie and Sommerset dresses, so this is only about a 5th of the dresses I brought!  As I always say when packing for the beach, I never know what tomorrow's sunset will look like so I better be prepared for it than wish I had the perfect dress to match it!

Finally, time to jazz everything up!  I can't go anywhere without my pearls, monogram, and Michael Kors watch, but of course I have to bring the nautical jewelry to the beach!  I've got my sand dollar cuff, anchor bangle, starfish necklace with matching earrings, and of course my omega with my fish charm!

As I said before, I ALWAYS over pack, but I am always safe and never sorry! (until I have to go back to reality and unpack it all!!)  So here are a few of the things that I packed and are always necessities!

First Post!

Hi Lilly Ladies!
I've decided to start a blog, but please bare with me, I'm new at this!  I only have one reason for wanting to start this blog:  because of my awesome instagram family!  I love communicating with y'all, sharing our interests and preppy secrets, and just seeing what yall are up to!  Okay.. there may be one other reason I am starting the blog.. I love to talk!  I love instagram, but I always feel like have so much more I want to say and share with you guys!

When I say i've started this blog because of my instagram family, I mean it.  Although I haven't met any of y'all in person, there are many of you that I consider to be my friends, and I hope you feel the same!  I see many of my dedicated follower's instagram names all the time through likes and comments and even sweet emails I have received.  When many of the names show up, I feel like I have known y'all for years, as I am able to recall who y'all are!  Through this it is evident to me that I have one of the strongest instagram families and love each and every one of you Lilly Ladies!  I hope to see y'all on here and I hope you enjoy the blog!  Since i'm new to this, I would love any advice, tips, and your input on the blog!
